ATEAM

Ausgeschrieben:
Advanced Terrestrial Ecosystem Analysis and Modelling
Beschreibung:
ATEAM's main objective is to assess the vulnerability of human sectors relying on ecosystem services with respect to global change. Ecosystem services are the conditions and processes through which ecosystems, and the organisms that make them up, sustain and fulfil human life. Vulnerability is the degree to which an ecosystem service is sensitive to global change plus the degree to which the sector that relies on this service is unable to cope with the changes.

SSC

Ausgeschrieben:
Species Survival Commission
Beschreibung:
The IUCN Species Survival Commission (SSC) has initiated a web-based series profiling some of its 120 Specialist Groups, their members and some of the species they work on. SSC Specialist Group members provide a wide range of expertise to IUCN - The World Conservation Union, gathering information and assessing an increasing number of animal and plant species across the planet. All are committed to reversing the extinction crisis by working to save a vast range of species (and their habitats). The energy, enthusiasm, and commitment shown by the Groups is remarkable but much goes unreported and unrecognised. Most members have full-time jobs and the work carried out on behalf of the Specialist Groups is in their "spare" time. This series aims to raise the profile of these Groups that are the driving force of SSC, and the important and fascinating work they carry out globally.

ANAEE

Ausgeschrieben:
Analysis and Experimentation on Ecosystem
Beschreibung:
ANAEE (Analysis and Experimentation on Ecosystem) Research Infrastructure was selected by the European Strategy Forum for Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) in September 2010 as one of the vital and strategic new European Research Infrastructures in ecosystem research for the next 20 years. The decision to include ANAEE in the ESFRI Roadmap was voted unanimously by each of the 27 EU Member states. A proposal for the ANAEE Preparatory Phase is currently under preparation and more details of this preparatory phase will be available shortly.

Integrated Digitized Biocollections
Beschreibung:
Welcome to Integrated Digitized Biocollections (iDigBio), the National Resource funded by the National Science Foundation for Advancing Digitization of Biological Collections (ADBC). Through iDigBio, data and images for millions of biological specimens are being made available in electronic format for the biological research community, government agencies, students, educators, and the general public. The iDigBio mission is to provide facilitation, leadership, coordination, and outreach in the domain of digitization of biological and paleontological collections throughout the United States by implementing resources that facilitate communication, use of technology, access to data, research and educational activities. iDigBio involves the development of a permanent and powerful cloud computing infrastructure to link biological data from collections across the United States into a single unified web interface, overcoming the “data silos” that currently exist across the country.
