We presented the mission of the GTI at the listed meetings. Abstracts are availabel in the download section. 2007- Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice Meeting 12 (SBSTTA-12), UNESCO, Paris, France: 02 - 06 July 2007 (link to webpage). The GTI NFP Germany organized the Side Event "Towards a Global Assessment of Taxonomic Needs and Capacities." The programme aims to discuss the implementation of strategies and mechanisms to decrease the taxonomic impediment and discuss the status of the Global Assessment of Taxonomic Needs and Capacities for relevant future conventions and events, by EDIT, Species2000, BioNET, CBD Secretariat and others.
