WISIA Wissenschaftliches Informationssystem zum Internationalen Artenschutz. In WISIA-online sind Informationen zum Schutzstatus von international und national geschützten Arten abrufbar. Es handelt sich hierbei um Arten, die nach den Deutschland geltenden Artenschutzregelungen geschützt sind. Damit unterliegen diese Arten gesetzlichen Regelungen und können nicht ohne weiteres gehandelt oder in Besitz genommen werden.

Die in WISIA-online verfügbaren Informationen wurden nach bestem Wissen auf Basis der aktuell verfügbaren Referenzen aufbereitet. Das Internetangebot WISIA-online dient als Hilfsmittel zur Ermittlung des vom Gesetzgeber festgelegten Schutzumfangs; verbindlich sind im Zweifelsfall die betreffenden Gesetzestexte und ihre Anhänge!

BIG Das Bundesinformationssystem Genetische Ressourcen (BIG) bildet Informationen über Wild- und Kulturpflanzen in Deutschland aus verschiedenen dezentralen Datenbanken ab. BIG enthält u.a. eine zentrale Komponente BIGTAX. Diese Datenbank basiert auf dem taxonomischen Expertenwissen der BIG-Partner über die Bereiche Wild- und Kulturpflanzen. Sie enthält wissenschaftliche Pflanzennamen, Synonyme und Volksnamen mit Angaben zur Informationsquelle und zum wissenschaftlichen Akzeptanzstatus zu mehr als 150.000 Taxa.

BIG The Federal Information System Genetic Resources (BIG) provides information on wild and cultivated plants in Germany. BIG is a distributed database retrieval system with a central component called BIGTAX. This database is based on the taxonomic expertise of the BIG partners on wild and cultivated plants. BIGTAX contains scientific plant names with synnyms and common names for more that 150.000 taxa. The names are complemented by source of information and status of scientific aceptance.

Digital Taxonomy provides a range of links on software, hardware, methodologies, standards, data sources, and projects related to biodiversity data management, covering DELTA, taxonomic databases, ecology, morphometrics, and phylogenetic analysis software, with emphasis on the exchange of free scientific software tools (preferably those including source code), computer techniques, and Internet addresses of developers and distributors of free bioinformatics software.
